Not talking about Zeus either.

I was pretty close to being on the business end of a lightning bolt. I work in Massachusetts and we just had a helluva storm role through these parts. I'm the IT nerd of my families company and I had already shut down my computer for the day and was about to leave. My mother (my boss) told me to stick around because there was a nasty storm coming. I figured I'd stay around to make sure the computers were OK before I left.

Enter the storm.

I went out to our warehouse and was watching the storm from the front loading door. I was about 10 feet away from the door and then all of a sudden...BBBBAAAAAMMMMMMM!!!!!!!! Holy fucking shit. It was the loudest sound I've ever heard in my life. I got a shock from the whole thing and my arm and hand had that shock, tingle feeling for about 10 minutes.

One of the guys that works in the warehouse said he saw a big flash of light and I was standing pretty close to it.

Holy fucking shit.

The weird part is that I just up my Life Insurance policy yesterday. I guess that's just God's way of throwing me a little chin music so to speak.

It's all good though, I just won't be admiring any lightning storms anytime soon.
I'll ride the wave where it takes me.

  • did you hear any electricity in the air? my ex stepfather and i were outside years ago when a storm moved in pretty quickly and a bolt went right over our heads. we both heard it crackling. i turned to ask him if he heard it and he was already halfway to the house, running as fast as he could.

If you feel tingling maybe you'll have super powers!

When i was young i was terrified by thunderstorms. It stormed for a bit one morning and I hid under the covers until I didn't hear a bolt for half an hour. Then as soon as I stood up a bolt hit our front yard and it scared the hell out of me.

I had to shut down my computer because of a lightening storm last night and what a storm we had. Beautiful day today though.
