so i just came back from a job interview with a really great company that i would love to work for.

and apparently i could not pass a microsoft excel test IF MY LIFE DEPENDED ON IT !!!!!!!

holy crap. i only scored a 60% !!! talk about feeling like a jackass!!!

lol whats worse i didnt do as well as i should have on the microsoft word test. i use word all the damn time too, it just does waaaaaaaaaaay more then i knew how to do.

the recruiter for the job loves me though, and sent me the tests so i can take and re-take and ........ till i pass them. then when a posistion opens up, its mine.

im a microsoft excel tard i guess.

looks like i have some work to do!!! lol
Peace, Love.

no, im guessing it would be simple for someone who works in Excel, i just have not in many years.

its for a collection agency. i nailed the interview, they love everything about me but the microsoft tests.

my gf is a geek and works in excel all day, so i know she will be able to show me what i need to know, but i felt DUMB in the interview !!! lol.

it will all work out. im pretty motivated to get this job, i was just in shock at how little i knew about excel. and some of the word test.
    Peace, Love.

My first year of engineering school they just assumed that everyone knew Excel so they just threw everyone to the wolves (no training or anything)....including me....some people were awesome with it writing huge ass equations and complex macro programs on day one as they have used it previously...but it was really easy to pick up after screwing around with it...found the Help menus useful....also what the hell do they ask on a Word/Excal test????

Never heard of anyone getting one of those.

Ha! We just interviewed some folks for a finance position and they had to take an Excel test and most of them bombed that portion as well. I'm in HR and was helping with the recruiment. I glanced at the Excel test they had to take and was like, thank Waffle I work in HR where nobody actually expects you to know anything...
