Congrats, Cliff, you deserve it. To be honest, as an Indians fan, I didn't even think he was gonna be in our '08 rotation after his '07 season. Way to prove me and everyone else wrong

I am not sure if I have ever posted in this forum before, but I had to come see if anyone was talking about my boy Cliff. I have to admit, I wanted him traded last year, but GM Mark Shapiro is smarter than me that you don't sell low if you don't have to, and look how it turned out. It was definitely fun to at least have a game to look forward to every five days.
words seem so out of place.

    - which award is more prestigious? the Cy Young award or the MVP?

    - why doesn't MLB have only one awardee? example is the MVP award. one for NL & one for AL. why not make a MLB MVP? so as the ROY & the Cy Young awards.

  • congrats to cliff. not an indians fan but a big baseball fan, I watched several cliff lee starts (thanks to mlb extra innings) and he was a stud in the AL. Definetly deserved the cy young award. hopefully cleveland will turn it around in 09.

I'd say the MVP is slighly more prestigious. For one thing, a pitcher can win the MVP (doesn't happen very often), but a batter obviously cannot win a Cy Young

As for the one award deal, I like awards for both the NL & AL. Interleague has blurred the line, but the AL & NL used to be entirely seperate entities. especially before free agency. The game was played different in each league (it still is to some degree, but not like it was decades back) There was much more a sense of pride in the league you played for. nowadays players switch leagues so often, it doesn't matter

Because Halladay had better stats then him in most categories, but his lack of run support cost him at least three wins.

I heard something yesterday that even I as an Indians fan didn't know: the Indians had the best record in baseball since the All-Star break. The injuries and the slow start killed them.
