Well, after months of procrastinating, I finally climbed into the attic and split the cable to run it to our kitchen TV. 
Split in the attic; out thru the exterior wall; down the wall and back in thru the electrical outlet. I replaced the dual receptacle with a single so I'd have room to run the cable thru the cover plate. Turned out pretty sweet, if I do say so myself!
Bring on the digital revolution!
