Did (do) you dress like Cliff Poncier?

...or Janet? I never had the balls to go full-on army boots, shorts w/tights/longjohns, bracelets, furry hat, etc. A flannel shirt was (and still is) about as "grunge" as I ever dressed. :D

    Totally!!!

I grew up in a suburb of Seattle, about 35 miles north of Seattle actually and graduated from high school in 1993. It was prime time age wise for going with the whole grunge movement. That, plus I hungered for a change from the whole glam thing from the late 80's, especially after being lucky enough to see Alice in Chains open for Warrant (:o) in 1989.

I loved wearing my purple docs or other chunky boot-like shoes with heavy socks, tights or long johns under boxer shorts, and a thermal or basic T with either a thrift store sweater or a flannel shirt.

Sometimes and old thermal with Levis was well enough.

Which is hilarious to me, 'cause that's my sis and she was a TOTAL preppy at the time. The kind who had to have her sock brand match her shoe brand.

But, she's pretty scrappy and could 'do' grunge well. :p

Yeah, I did. It was good times, man. I graduated high school in '95 so my sophmore and junior year was the absolute height of that trend. I dont think I owned a normal pair of tennis shoes from 1992 until 1996. I wore my boots under my cap and gown

Wore the Docs and the backwards cap and flannel shirt and army brown t-shirt. All of which aside from the Docs before I knew who Pearl Jam were, I can say. And the Docs, I'm not sure if Eddie inspired me, I bought them in London in '93 for like $50. They lasted me about seven years and probably a thousand miles of walking. My friend bought some kick ass like sage green ones with the weathered look.
