Well aside from being the word of the year for 2007 ( http://www.m-w.com/info/07words.htm ), Woot.com is a website, go figure huh?
Anyway. I can't really explain it any better than they have here http://www.woot.com/WhatIsWoot.aspx but I'll summarize it all.
Once a day, starting at midnight central time, a new "deal" is put up on the site. These deals range from toy helicopters to new computers. All are at a reduced price. The deal stays up until the lot sells out or until the day is over.
Overall the bulk of stuff offered isn't amazing, but a lot of it usually sells out.
Now and then there will be a "Woot-off". They start at midnight and end whenever they end, one day, two days, whatever. An item is offered, and once it sells out a new item gets placed up there. Items sell out in under 5 minutes a lot. Usually it'll start off with something grossly cheap.. example would be web-cams for a 0.01 cent. And a lot of times the Woot-off ends with the most sacred "Woot!" item:
A BAG OF CRAP! Lol yea.. it is what it is. It's a mystery bag filled with 1, 2, or 3 items for $1 each (you're a fool for not selecting 3). They usually sell about 4500 total items for the B.O.C. and they sell out in under a minute. What's the big deal? Well in the B.O.C. people have gotten stuff like HD TV's, computers and Roomba's.. It's all random.
I recently had the honor of getting two separate B.O.C.'s. The first which contained the bag (a nice nylon backpack), a plastic Rat Fink piggy bank, a SnacDaddy food tray, and a NavMan GPS thing for runners, which retails for around $60. - My second B.O.C. was better.. I got the bag (another, but different nylon backpack), a jumbo tooth brush, an old xbox head set, an Andre the Giant action figure, and a 6.1mp digital camera!
Mostly the whole fun of the B.O.C. is waiting and opening you're crappy bag.. lol.
There is also a shirt.woot.com, which is my favorite. Same deal, one day, one shirt, $10 / shirt. Once a week they have a derby (shirt.woot.com/derby) which people can enter designs for shirts while members vote on the best. The top three designs go on sale when the derby ends. The winners get paid $500 if the design sells out on day one and they get $2 for every shirt sold after the day (shirts are sold for $15 after their day and some get eliminated once a week if the sales are low). Can check out past winners and shirts still for sale here: http://www.shirtsonsale.info/2007/10/shirtwoot-15-tees-friends-links-updated_9704.html
For any of you artists here (and I saw some awesome poster art, you should check this out).
Lastly there is a wine.woot.com. Every Monday they offer what is usually wine.. I have seen cheese and wine-related stuff like glasses etc.. Unfortunately I live in PA and it's illegal to ship alcohol here so I can't participate
Anyway, if you're bored, check this stuff out. It's worth it to check each site at midnight, you might find something you need or want.
Happy Wooting!
EDIT: You can click on "COMMUNITY" on each respective Woot.com page to view past days items.
EDIT 2: Shipping costs at woot.com are $5 no matter what. You can order three computers and only pay $5 total or one mouse and pay $5. Shipping on shirt.woot.com is free, however expect to wait about 7-10 days to get your item, or you can spend $5 for overnight shipping.

EDIT: This is over the passed two years or so.
For the most part they're new. However now and then they have factory refurbs up. I actually bought a wireless mouse refurb and it worked fine for a long time, and it was only like $15 or something ridiculous like that.
EDIT: If you look under the price at "condition" it'll say whether it's new or refurb.

Two for Tuesday!
Got me two power squids for 12.99! (7.99+5 shipping)
Not bad because they retail for about $15 each. Been looking to get one of these for my computer crap, due to all those huge ass plugs I'm using 2 surge protectors right now, plugged into each other.. I don't think that's safe.. lol
Damn they sold out fast! And yes, it's very addicting! They're due for a Woot-Off soon.. that's where the drug really kicks in...
Next day unless it's a Woot-Off. If it is a Woot-Off you'll see flashing lights and a status bar under the product (the bar gives a rough estimate of how many of shown item is remaining before the next item). Once the product sells out they'll put up another until they sell every thing they planned on selling during said Woot-Off.
Otherwise it's one item, one day
WOOT ROCKS!!!!!!!!
Till there aint nothing left worth taking away from me.....
but nice people sw****w

They had one up earlier today during the woot-off, oddly they didn't end with it, so it threw a lot of people off I guess, lol.
I never heard of the bag of crap. How often do these happen? When do they usually happen?
Just a warning for people, some of the stuff they sell is refurbished (r0x0rz!). I found that out when I got my used bluetooth headset (GROSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS)
If you need a Bird Flu Kit you may want to check out woot.com today!

The BoC's tend to appear at the end of woot-offs. Todays was towards the end but didn't end it. And yea, they do sell some refurb items, but they're clearly labeled as refurbs, so you shouldn't be confused when buying.
Hopefully it's a plasma TV and not a flash drive.
