    Premiership Soccer - Fulham
    NHL - Pittsburgh Pens

Now, that is a good list! Not because I agree with it, but because this person is not some geographical sheep who thinks everything in his own backyard must be the shit, just because they're nearby. The easy way out would be Orioles, Ravens, Terrapins and whoever the fuck else is in the Baltimore area. Congrats on your list! Quite a bit better than "Seahawks, Mariners, Sonics and U-Dub"! :D

Most of us probably have funny little stories about how we became fans of a particular non-local sports teams. Post your stories. You bandwagoners out there, here is your chance to cover up your bandwagon-ness. And please, no "I've always liked Kevin Garnett, so..." please.

I generally root for LA teams because I grew up there with the exception of the Angels (who are NOT an LA team) and the Clippers. The 49ers are the only non-LA team I root for and its because the old Nintendo game Super Tecmo Bowl. My older brother and I had the game and started a season, he chose the Raiders, our favorite team at the time, and I chose the 49ers only because I knew who Joe Montana was. Well, I whipped my brother and anyone else with that niners team and the love affair started. The end.
