This has to be one of the best video games I have EVER played!

I used to be into RPG's a lot.. From the original Final Fantasy to FFX I played all of them and many others.. It's been about 4-5 year's since I actually played a classic RPG.

So I got a bit bored with CoD4, I decided to pick up this game.. and I must say, it was easily the greatest RPG I have ever played.

The story line was simply amazing. I was pretty hooked from the beginning, but throughout the whole game I was enthralled in the story.

The game is pretty much a make up of every aspect of every RPG you've ever played. Random battle generating Japanese-style RPG. And on a next-gen console. The graphics are nothing short of sick.

There is so much shit to do, and a lot of craziness. I fell in love with every character and couldn't wait to see what happened next.

The basic story is, five people were send from one world to another to co-exist with the people. In a Chronicles of Narnia sort of way, they became immortals (time stood almost still in their home world but moved like normal in the new world). One of the immortals became power hungry and wants to be an immortal god so he erases the memories of the other immortals and gets in good with a King. Throughout the game you're working to re-discover your past through dreams and other means.

The game is 4 disks... on a next-gen system, you can imagine the content that is in this game.. I ended up playing a total of 65 hours! And there is still so much more I could do if I wanted to..

Anyway, if you're into RPG's (especially the Final Fantasy series, the game was made by many people who made the last few Final Fantasy's), pick this game up, you will not be disappointed!

it's every bit as awesome as this trailer is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FKWLgkcdCCI

  • It's funny that you made this thread when you did because I literally just got this game last night (Friday).

Now I'm not a big RPG guy, but I did play FF VII & VIII back in the day and have Oblivion and Mass Effect as well, even though those aren't exactly the same type of game.

I've only played it for about an hour, but I've actually enjoyed it a lot so far. I really like the art direction and the occasional split-screen cutscene, which I understand is why it's four disks (not the split-screen part, just the sheer number of cutscenes in general).

Anyways, spare time is at a premium and with MLB 2K8 out on Tuesday along with already having 30+ games for the 360, I may move at a snail's pace on this one but plan to stick to it.

I've been waiting for a random sale to grab it (mostly because I have several other games on the go and know if I get LO I'll be delaying all these games yet again). My buddy brought it over and I checked it out, and it meets my expectations easily.
Very FF ish game style, works for me!

Grabbed it on Ebay, and have logged a good amount of time since I got it.
    Great game.

Finished lost odyssey. Great game but the story and dialogue were written by a five year old it's really awful. Still a good game.
