Shady EBay question..

So, I've tempting my luck at Ebay, trying to win a No Code or Binaural vinyl. Anyway, in the last week or so, three items (2 No Codes, and 1 Binaural), were either taken down by the seller or not purchased by the top bidder.

Anyway, I got three Emails, all for seemingly foreign people, asking for my address, EBay ID, ect, to see if I wanted to still purchase the items. Two times, I responded (without sending my info) and offered a lot less than they are worth. Both sellers said that's acceptable and to send the information so they can send it to EBay.

I figured it might be a bit shady so I didn't do it.. But when I got the same notification for the Binaural I figured, "why the hell not?". So I sent my info and a price I would pay. The bid ended at $150, I offered $60. The seller jumped at $60 and asked me to send payment through Western Union. I ended the transaction here, because, who the hell still uses Western Union and doesn't use PayPal?

And to end an already long-winded post.. What's the deal here? Is someone just trying to get me to pay money for nothing? Is this common practice? I've made a lot of bids on Ebay that I didn't win, but only in the passed week did I get these notifications.

First EMail, seemingly from EBay:

    looks like a spoof

ignore and delete, way to much of a coinkydink. Sometimes you get a second chance notice, but if it 1 not directly from the seller, and 2 from someone with not 98 or above feedback I would say don't do it and wait for it to be relisted.

e-bay will never ask you for personal info unless you initiate the contact, and even then they will not ask fro passwords etc.

Just wait for a new listing to be safe, that is my 400plus transaction experience advice. Both those vinyls will come up often so protect your ass.

this I will contact e-bay stuff is all bullshit. If it was legit they would just relist the item. It probably isn;t even from the seller. Contact e-bay safeharbor and tell them about it too. I had my account broken into and had all these biuds and sales under my username made. Those emails are way too suspicious. I don;t think there is a trsut and safety dept either.

The fakes look toally legit, but e-aby would NEVER contact you with a mail like that, and they certainly would not delete an item listing number with XXXXXXXXXX

    total scam avoid it
