  • Its digital. They will all sound the same.

As far as longevity, discs do deteriorate over time and eventually will skip and freeze.. Go with Maxell CD-R Pro.. I did some research online and these are of the best quality for longevity.

It is my understanding that the sound card is the dominant factor in sound quality.

I guess my question was really related to those brands that have less discs per pack that ,for whatever reason don't burn.have had problems with Sony before and while cost IS a consideration it's not my primary factor.

i used to have come of those, bought them cos they looked kinda cool :)

i never had any problems with them i dont think. but i have no idea what distinguishes a good from a bad cd-r. i bought a new pack myself the other day. there was one brand that had cd-r and then one that said it was a music cd-r. as far as i could tell from the label, there was no difference between them aside from them charging more for the music one. they had a 50-pack of memorex for under $10, but to get 25 of the same brand was more expensive. there seems to be no rhyme or reason to this stuff. i ended up buying some fuji's, mainly because i wanted something that looked similar to the ones i had. i'm ocd and need my discs to match ;)
    and like that... he's gone.

Cool , you there is something that might help with the OCD thing but if you have to "control" something this seems harmless to me. How ya doing anyway? Back in school?
