so i went to go see Stephen King's The Mist yesterday night. It was very good. It also followed the book closely which i am keen to. The reason is because when Stanley Kubrick did The Shining it pissed me off because they left out very important parts of the book. All in all the Mist was a very good film. I hihgly recomend it.

is The Mist the same as The Fog?

    Esther's here and she's sick?

hi Esther, now we are all going to be sick, thanks
  • no, the Fog takes place on the coast of Oregon, and the Mist takes place in inland Maine. The story is different.

I just finished watching this. Holy shit. That is one fucked up ending. I can't believe a movie studio let Darabont get away with it!

I have a 9 year old son. I wanted to go upstairs and give him a hug after it was over.

I can see why it didn't do so well in the theaters. It is basically B-movie fare (I think on purpose), but with an ending that knocks it out of the park. "Bold and ugly" is good way to describe it. Most people want to leave a movie feeling good I think.

I am a huge King fan (obviously - see screen name) so I was very happy with it. But wow, it is brutal.

Nice Dark Tower reference in the first scene though!

  • I liked Marcia Gay Harden in it, she was damn good! Other than that, I thought it was kinda boring and the lead guy (I don't know the actors name) wasn't believable at the end. That ending was fucked up though, leaving me going "No fuckin way!"

saw this in the theatre and was very impressed the way they did this, it was one of my favourite King short stories.

I am also a huge King fan, read all his books except his most recent

Loved the ending, exactly like the book, was wondering if they would follow that or change it up because of its gruesomeness

Flagg, what was the DT reference at the beginning, I saw this in December and can't recall that.

I still must pick up this on DVD

Im sure it's DVD. I remember when the movie came out but now I'm more interested in seeing it after reading the book.

Realized I never answered this. The painting in the beginning is of Roland looking at the Tower.

Yeah, Randall Flagg was my favorite fictional character several years ago and now I just use it for most of my screen names.

Yeah, I remember liking this one the best of all his short stories. I forgot they made a movie for this. I'll have to pick it up.
