i was having a debate with some friends yesterday about what is teh best art form. one of my friends said that books are the best while my other friend said that it was painting while i said it was music. teh reason behind these choices was that books can create a world that does not exist and can make it exist in our mind. while a painting can challage us to look at things is a different way then we would originally do. i said music as it can music can make us feel emotions in a raw form whiel also creating a different world liek books and can also make us view thinsg in ways that we woudl not do.

my questions to all of you is what do you believe to be the best art form and why?

i think you cheated on your answer... sounds like a playground one-up... "well MINE is the best of ALL of yours COMBINED!" ;)

i vote books. they were my first love, and they will be my last. i love music, but i've never been much of a lyrics guy, so the stories fall short. give me a good novel. not so keen on poetry or non-fiction. paintings and visual art have never really done much for me. aside from a gorgeous female... now THAT is some visual art!
    and like that... he's gone.

They are all so different, it is hard to say one is better than another. That is what is great about art, it is all subjective. My personal favorite is drawing with charcols or painting.

all arts are good, or bad.
I prefer a good book to a bad painting. I prefer a good painting to a bad book...

I think a well written poem, novel, story, hell even screen play probably moves me the most. However, I love the more social aspects of music, especially creating it with a group of friends.

You've got me. I read tons of books, have loads of music and visit galleries wherever I go.

The one I'd miss most if it was taken away would be music.
