If you're new to it and know nothing about the city (and the weather cooperates) check out the freedom trail -- it's a historic walk that'll take you through several historic parts of the city, and you'll see where Samuel Adams was buried, among other things. Take in a concert at The Paradise -- it's a cool small rock club that gets good indie acts and tickets are always cheap. Like beer? Take the Sam Adams brewery tour since ya get some free samples. Don't eat at Cheers because there isn't much to it....other than tourists. Yes, Fenway to see a game is sublime, but even if you can't get seats and if they are at home that week, being in and around the Fenway area is an experience in and of itself on a game night. It's like no other atmosphere in MLB. Tip back some brews at some cool bars in that area. Be prepared to spend a lot, because, like NYC (but not quite as bad) it is expensive. Unlike NYC however, prepare for last call at 1:30am citywide. Take the T to get around the city -- it's cheap, easy to navigate, and you don't want to drive if you're not from the area. Fuck, I hate driving there and I live in Massachusetts. You can get a week pass for 15 bucks. You'd pay that and more for one parking spot in Boston.

Take a tour of Fenway, too. It only takes about an hour and it is worth it.

another good way to see the historic side is the Boston Duck Tours between that and walking the Freedom Trail you'll pretty much get everything you'd want to see.

The Fenway Tour is really good as well and I have found it's a better tour if they are on the road since they don't have to worry about getting the park in shape for a game.

I think there's been a few similar threads in the past, you should try to dig them up because there were a lot of good ideas.

Go to an Irish Baa, meet "Sully" and let him tell you to "go fuck your motha". After you've done that there is nothing that can top it.

Its in Cambridge, Harvard Square, a good 45 minute, non-traffic drive from Mansfield.

Or do you mean the Old North Church? Which is in the North End of Boston, the Paul Revere Lantern church. Also about 45 minutes.

A touch closer to Mansfield than Cambridge or Boston, still a solid 30-35 minute drive with no traffic.
