Free Credit Report?

If my credit is so important and it means life or death here in the US....why the hell do I have to pay to see it, does this not bother anyone else?
Why cant I look at it daily, for free, its mine isnt it?

You can get one once a year from the good ol' government.

You can actually get it 3 times a year for free at annualcreditreport.com

yeah I think it is only re-calculated every quarter so it wouldn't matter if you looked at it more than that anyway.0 -

However each one does it a little different and has different scoring scales. But still, they give you the same basic info.0 -
oh, and you have to pay for you actual score....otherwise you just get a report without a score.0

the companies that process the reports charge the site you are using to look at it....but you can look at it free 3 times a year I believe0

you cannot get your credit score on this sites for free...I believe the only place you can get your score for free is through the gov't0

You have to pay to view your score at http://www.annualcreditreport.com ; they give you your report but the actual numeric score must be purchased.
