My ex had it done. It took her about 4-5 days to start feeling better. I guess the air they fill you with to get the bladder out sucks ass. She got some good drugs out of it though that I got to share.

Pretty simple procedure really. I think it's 4 holes and they end upi sucking it out through one of them. I can't really remember that part since it was 4 years ago.
I'll ride the wave where it takes me.
  • you will be okay - but you will also have to watch what you eat afterwards...the gall bladder helps to process food/energy.

my bro had his removed awhile ago...he was in a little discomfort for a few days afterwards.

it seemed like the appropriate thing to say. I dont know if it burns but I would think it does. Friend had his removed and he was outta commision for three days. He said it burned though....when he peed

I had mine out about 7 yrs ago and it was no big deal, I was out of the hospital by the afternoon and by the next day I felt pretty good. You will realize after you get home how every thing you do uses your stomach muscles so load up on the pain pills. Honestly after the first day any discomfort I had didn't even come close to the gallstone attacks I was having before the surgery.

Are they going through your belly button ??? It's not so bad ;) you'll be on some good pain killers after :D .. almost everyone on my mother's side including my mom had it done.. it's in the genes... did either of you parents have it done???

Yes, they're going through my belly button and making 3 incisions on my right side near the gall bladder.

I asked my parents and no one in the family has had problems.

yeah, I'm hoping I get to go home that day, I definitely do not want to stay overnight because my insurance isn't covering the whole surgery

  • Surgery is nothing...

A little bit of anxiety, but really that's it.

You won't remember a damn thing. It will feel like 2 seconds went by. The worst part is having a really (really) dry mouth when you first wake up, and you'll feel a bit sick, so they inject some gravol in your tubes and then you'll just lay back just buzz out like you;ve never buzzed out before....oh...and you'll try opening your eyes but give up and rest....and rest....and rest.

You'll feel like a sloth for about 8 - 12 hours after you wake up from the residual anesthesia...

    anyhow....that was my experience...(brain surgery)
Progress is not made by everyone joining some new fad,
and reveling in it's loyalty. It's made by forming coalitions
over specific principles, goals, and policies.

  • For those of you that have had a gall bladder removed, what happens if you eat some really fattening foods? Do you get sick?
