so i turned on the news...they are reporting 20 dead, 100 hurt

i hope those are over estimates

    :(
  • man...i got off work and went immediately to the gym. didn't even hear about this until right this moment.

i have a close friend who often rides the metrolink through chatsworth. i just tried to call him, but no answer. fuck.

EDIT: friend is fine, he didn't ride the train today. thank god. but the last hour has only intensified the sympathies i feel for the family and friends of the victims of this crash.

  • I took this train for about a yr commuting between Chatsworth & Union Station. There were a lot of nice people I saw on the train every day, so when I saw the story, I prayed for them. That's a scary image.

That wreck looks horrible. I can't even imagine what families must be going thru.............there are a lot of unknowns in this. I mean, how do you know for sure if someone might have been on that particular train?? It's not like a plane where they have names................ugh, my heart is breaking for the families without any answers. How does a wreck between a commuter train and a freight train happen..........a head on collision at that???

Wait a minute a head on collision between a commuter and a freight train. Somebody has some SERIOUS explaining to do. Bless those people.

It's George Bush's fault. No, really. Here's why.

Thanks to GW and his style of selective disclosure of information to Congress regarding the situation with Saddam and Iraq, US Forces invaded said country.

This resulted in higher gas prices.

High gas prices have contributed to an explosion in the use of rail commuting.

Last year, it was announced that Metrolink was doubling its scheduling here in southern california within the next year.

    It's next year.
