Songs for mum.

Can you help me make a CD for my mum? I need things like Shania Twain, 'Unchained Melody', 'Achey Breaky Heart' that kind of stuff. I'm drawing a complete blank. I can't think of much. I mean, if your parents like that kind of stuff, what would you put on a CD for them?

I didn't want to put this on 'Other Music' because it would get lost amoungst the better music threads.

If my parents liked that kind of stuff, I'd give them a PJ cd in an attempt to 'cure' them. ;)

I'm kidding, but really have no idea. Check other songs from the same artists maybe? (cept for billy ray cyrus, put weird al's parody on instead).

It's short for 'muther' or 'mutha'. Like 'Yo yo mutha, are you looking at my homie'? ...or something... I don't know why it's spelt like that.

I wanted it to be a mixed CD so only one track by each artist.

She hates Pearl Jam. She really, really fucking hates my music. :D Since she spent so many years listening to it, I thought maybe try something a little less selfish.

Cheers beacuse I was hoping for some names I've not heard of as well. So it's sort of got some 'classics' as well as songs she might not have heard but will enjoy so that it doesn't get too boring. For her. :o

sigh if you want country and she likes shania twain, look for Brooks & Dunn, Little Kansas, Faith Hill, Alan Jackson, and that is pretty much all I can come up with for country music.

My gf hates that family guy episode...or at least those parts of the episode...
  • when I make CDs for my parents I use songs they like (or I think they would like) from good bands I like. even stuff like u2 or coldplay is always good for parents, and more tolerable.

I love Amy Winehouse so my mum will hate her but thanks.

'Something's Got A Hold On My Heart' - Gene Pitney. (That's going on the llist).
  • i would trick her with a Pearl Jam song...something like "thumbing my way" or something...

I think the Dixie Chicks are generally well liked, I have a sister that LOVES them and someone named Keith Urban.

    :D

That's just it though. I'm trying NOT to force my music on her for a change. Besides it's pointless. She'll only say the lyrics make no sense and that the musicians can't play. :D

Anyway, I won't complain anymore. I'm starting to remember stuff that she likes now. (Skater Boy-Avril Lavigne and UB40).
