Madison Square Garden Poster '08 - Ames

OK, Heres my thoughts about this print:

I was at both MSG shows and was too intoxicated to make it down to the poster sale and I AM DAMN HAPPY TO SAY THAT I DO NOT THINK THAT THIS POSTER IS ANYWHERE NEAR WHERE IT SHOULD BE for such an epic event. This poster is WAAAY overpriced right now. I just snagged a VA Beach print for half the cost of an MSG and got 3X the Art!!! i JUST THOUGHT ID THROW MY TWO CENTS IN........to all those buying these posters on ebay, YOURE AN IDIOT!!

If I can get 1 from 10c in the future for $25, I'll take it and frame it with my ticket, otherwise forget it


I was Happy to get a Harrtford...couldn't believe that one was kinda easy if you got there around 6:30

I definitely agree that the VA Beach poster is superior to the MSGs. In fact, I think the VA Beach poster was the best one of the entire tour. The colors are amazing!

I think the MSGs are more valuable, because of the crap people had to go through to get one.

I didn't like the MSG poster when I walked into the venue to get my tickets and saw it from 20 ft away.... very happy I didn't waste money on it.

Not jealousy at all, I just know what a $ 150 poster looks like and it aint MSG I or II. I like the poster , but not for that price. $ 50 maybe

Well, I got the second night's and didn't like it at first...I bought it in to get framed and had a new found appreciation for it...as did the framer....because the colors used are very off base....it was very hard to try to match the colors...not typical greens, yellows and grays. I came away very impressed by it after the 1/2 hour I spent trying to get it done right. Plus the fact that I was there and can honestly care less about monetary value of it.....I'm now glad I did get it.

I think it is a good poster, but I am glad I did not wait in line hours for it, or the mess I read about to get one. I think Boston and Tampa are both better Ames.

The thing that sucks for me is I wasn't even drunk yet, waited on that long friggin' line and by the time I got to the front thet were all sold out.

I wouldn't spend $150 on it though, so I guess I'll have to wait to get a copy.

1) you did not attend the show, so obviously you wouldn't know
2) you did not experience the flow of energy in that bitch
3) those shows were fucken great along with every other show of the tour

The posters are so much because they were HARD TO GET and the shows were GREAT.

I wouldn't sell my MSG2 poster for anything. I waited in a cattle pen (with some pretty cool people) but it was unsafe and not necessary. The night before we formed a line and were obviously capable of being rational human beings to wait patiently and buy a poster. Night two was just too much stress. After waiting over 2 hours there was no way I was giving up. I'm 5'4" and it was tough going through a small opening that fits 2 people at a time when like 400 are trying to push in. I was actually scared. Thanks to all the guys trying to watch out for me!!


So when you pay $150 for a cool poster, the person selling it may have had to do the same as me. You are paying for time and energy of getting the f'in thing.
I like to have the posters of the shows I went to. Thats all.
Everyone has their own ideas. Me, I get there early, I take a day or half a day from work. If the posters mean that much to you then you do what needs to be done. If you can afford it, why waste the time. Take a chance and buy the poster on ebay.

Gotta love art and how it makes people react. But telling people they are idiots because they have a different taste than you have is just wrong.

My favourite posters for the tour are virginia and colombia. Two completely different styles and I love them both! As for MSG, they are ok but nothing I would have on my walls.

how do you figure which is 3x or 10x better? amount of color they use? the value of the poster to a fan?

simply put.....if you don't like a poster, then don't get it. To some people $150 is nothing but to a minimum wage worker then that poster means everything.
