    J. Crew and Jos. A Banks usually have them, but it might be hard to find them this time of year. Well, maybe at J. Crew, but I think they are about $180. Ick.
I still want you all to "take care"--I am just damn tired of typing it.

  • I like J crew, but that is a little expensive, its not that i wouldnt pay it if they were really comfortable but its more than I would like to spend.

  • is it better to spend 180 bucks on pants that you would wear frequently and feel good in or to spend 40 bucks on uncomfortable pants that you find flaws in and can only stand to wear them maybe once a month?

I bought a pair of linen cargo pants from Eddie Bauer for like $14.99. The tags said something crazy like $60 or something. I guess EB miscalculated the market for linen pants.

Uber comfortable, but not very stylish, IMO. They look like a pair of curtains.

60 wouldn't be bad for a really nice pair and looking like curtains maybe a good thing, I'll have to check em out.

Linen Pants on a guy = Gay.

Calling someone "gay" as a derogatory label based upon a clothing style = ignorance.

It's not known for sure whether or not it was meant as a pejorative. It's like saying that an earring in the right ear = gay, which is merely a statement of fact.

If the poster believed that linen pants were a fashion statement that has been sanctioned by the gay community as a symbol of affiliation with said sexual orientation, then it is not the poster's intention to cast linen pants in a negative light, but rather to educate the OP on fashion.

If you consider the word "Gay" a derogatory label, then you are the one who is ignorant. You should seek help. I have several gay friends who wear Linen pants, and while it looks great on them, its not for me. But I support their right to wear linen pants, because they are my friends, and I support all their endeavors.

Maybe in some countries linen pants are not affiliated with the alternative lifestyle.

A couple of summers back, some people that a friend of mine had met in Sweden flew down to San Diego to hang out for a bit.

One of them was this guy who was wearing cut-off jeans as shorts. As far as we knew, he was hetero, so we figured some styles that are considered gay-affiliated in the states are not so in Europe.

I guess maybe in the deep south cut-off jeans on a guy are more the norm, but not in southern california.

A piercing in the left ear cancels out the piercing in the right ear. You mean to say you've never heard of this?

oh when i was a lil kid i always heard the left ear piercing bit meant whomever the guy was meant he was homosexual.
i pierced my left ear when i was in 7th grade (long time ago & because motley crue was awesome) in our bathroom with a sewing needle.
once the body piercing craze kicked in & (many yrs later) ppl started piercing their bodies everywhere & anywhere, i pierced my left ear again one more time and my right ear the one time. for a grand total of (doing the math bear with me) 3 times.

as far a Linen pants go, i havent a clue what the hell Linen pants are.
all i know about are jeans, jeans, & more jeans.
i don't believe a dude wearing Linen pants is always a sword swallower.
and that is said with no offence to that type of guy.
just a bit of comedy from my goofy-silly ass.

I forgot what show it was, but it was one of those shows where they follow around couples who are trying to buy a new home. It was like House Hunters or something.

So, in this episode, an English couple is looking to buy a house in Spain. The husband was wearing a white linen suit with matching wide-brimmed hat as they toured these old Spanish houses.

And I figured yeah it's like a European thing to dress like that. It must be perfectly acceptable over there.
