just got back from the midnight showing of this movie and it was really funny and entertaining. seth rogan and james franco were a riot and had really good on-screen chemistry. its not just for stoners, even if that is how the movie is being advertised. if you like good comedy or any of the other movies by the apatow crew (40 year old virgin, knocked up, superbad, etc.), go see this movie.

The previews for this movie make it look interesting and funny. I've been a big fan of the Apatow crew movies, so I'm looking forward to seeing this one. Hopefully, I can convince the wife to go see this with me...

  • Just got back from this, some really funny shit. I really loved James Franco...kind of made me think of Floyd (Brad Pitt) from True Romance.

I thought Rosie Perez was in the "Where are they now" files, but she was in the movie...kind of a lame character.

I read someone's comment on IMDB that it was like a mixture of Hot Fuzz and Half Baked and that sounds about right. I agree, not sure why (possible spoiler but not really) it turned into almost an action flick towards the last half.

I just got back from the movie. It was very funny, and I'm not a stoner at all. I'll admit that I didn't laugh through some of the jokes that the rest of the theater seemed to find funny, though.

Someone had the balls to light up at the end of the movie at my theater... pretty funny :)

Saw this movie last night.... some of the best fight scenes ever... no kidding!

I'm trying to pick where The guy with the Daiwoo was from.. what movies is he in... he is in one where he is disgusted by someone as a brother in law....

Zoo lander guy.... name escaping me.. i know there is google but i'm lazy!! :)

anyway.... most of the characters in Pineapple Express were good.

    again... awesome Fight Scenes....

Some classic lines from this one... and some well paid hommages (sp?).... "Fuuuuuck da Police!" haha

Wicked movie. It's a great cross of action and comedy. Both are done very, very well.

  • Just got back from seeing it and thought it was hilarious. James Franco was excellent. Nice to see him in another type of role. Lots of cameo's from the whole Apatow crew of course. Good movie :)

  • Good movie. I laughed. Franco and Rogen work really well together. And I love Craig Robinson from The Office in everything he does.

I heard there's a lot of action in it. So it's not your typical stoner movie, is it then?

Just got back from this, some really funny shit. I really loved James Franco...kind of made me think of Floyd (Brad Pitt) from True Romance.

I read somewhere that the writer got the idea of the movie after watching True Romance. He wanted to make a movie about Floyd and how he would react when put in the situation that the rest of the characters in the movie were in.

I saw it this weekend and I got to say it was the funnist Apatow movie yet, for me. Pure genius.

I was distracted for awhile because I just though Franco was doing a Brad Pitt imitation from True Romance, like a person above suggested. However, he did really well - I never realized the guy had that much charisma.

The movie was funny, but it could have benefited from about 10 minutes or so chopped off. It dragged on during the second half, but that seems to happen in the "bromance" movies. Wedding Crashers had a similar vibe, but I thought that movie was great.

I'd put Wedding Crashers and Superbad over this flick, but it was very funny.

    You will try.
  • I LOVED it! I've never laughed so hard in a theatre. I missed many jokes because I was laughing from the joke before. Personally, I put it ahead of Superbad, but everyone has their personal preference. James Franco and Seth Rogan had amazing chemistry. Franco was fantastic! I read that Rogan wrote the role of Saul for himself, but after the table read realized that the role would be much funnier played by Franco. Great move! I can't imagine anyone else in the role.

My friend heard somewhere that Rogan has been asked to write a sequel to Superbad, but is reluctant to do so. Apparently, there is discussion, however, of writing a movie where characters from both Superbad and Pineapple Express meet. For example, the kids from Superbad buy weed from Saul and mayhem ensues.

He's in Heartbreak Kid and his name is Danny McBride. Funnier than shit, a true up and coming comedy star. He's in Tropic Thunder too and plays a hilarious part.

i saw it last night and thought it was a cute (albeit violent) bromance movie.

the idiots in the back row were lucky i didn't unleash any Rogen/Franco fighting style on them for talking through the whole damn movie.
