Accutane

I know this is a weird thread...but hear me out, or at least anyone who cares to share their experiences.
I am a 20 year old male. I have had acne since I was a about 13 which isn't abnormal, but only on my neck, chest and back, my face is totally clear...lately I've just learned to cope with it, and accept my bad looking days, and really enjoy my better looking days. I've been prescriped various anti-biotics that have done their fair share of help until my body becomes used to it and they become ineffective...
I don't really feel like explaining all the horror stories, rumored side effects, etc..of Accutane, anyone who's interested to know can find these very easily jsut by searching Google. But I've read MANY reviews, and done loads of research online after my dermatologist asked me if I knew what it was and I said no, he recommended that I do some research and deciding of my own before I get on the prescription. That was almost a year ago...and now it's come to the point where I'm sick of working my life, confidence, and self-esteem around this unfortunate skin problem. I'm annoyed, and completely over my bad complexion and I shouldn't have to just say "oh fuck it" and deal with it. It hasn't always been this way, I used to have very fine and clear skin, but puberty sucks, and even more so for some.
Anyways, my point is that I'm ready to risk the side effects of this medicine to hopefully solve this problem that effects more of your life than you realize. Anyone who has more than the average couple of pimples can certainly agree.
I want to know if anyone on this forum has tried Accutane, and if so I would like to know your experiences and comments whether they be good or bad, at this point...I think this will help me, even though my decision has pretty much been made I'd be a liar if I said that I wasn't nervous about taking the medication.
Thanks,
Cheers.

But a good friend of mine and many clients have used Accutane and gotten wonderful results. The only major concern was not getting pregnant while on it and you have no problem with that.
I am of the school of thought that if it improves your self image, then go for it.
Good luck and I am sure it will be fine.
And I don't feel right when you're gone away
I can tell you it works. 1000000% it works. It dried my entire face out though. I was constantly applying lip balm! Even the inside of my nose was dry as a bone. It was crazy. Other than that, i don't remember having any side affects. I remember that i took it in the fall/winter because you're not supposed to be out in the sun while taking it so if you do plan on, now is definitely the time!
Doctors now days seem more apprehensive to prescribe it because of the side affects but it worked wonders for me and i highly reccommend it.
"To is a preposition.
Come is a verb"
I think the apprehension is because of the suicide scare, which I'm not toos cared about...I'm generally a very happy, motivated, and jolly kind of guy..

I had tried EVERYTHING. Accutane works. You'll shed skin like a snake, but it's worth it. Do it!

I actually had a bit of depression as well, but that was due to the acne. Once it was gone, so was the depression.
