A friend and I have an urge to go on an adventure...he's been to Portland, I haven't, and we both want to make a stop in Portland, and on ward to Seattle to check it out, we're planning on really making it interesting and taking a Greyhound bus (in hopes we won't decapitated lol)

Does anyone out there have some cool recommendations of where to go out there? Restaurants, record stores, museums, real Seattle coffee shops lol?

any cool photo spots?
I'm assuming there are piers? anything cool on those? I know I've had a blast at the piers in San Diego and Redondo Beach.

Someone, help me discover Seattle!

i have no tips. i spent a week there as a kid on a family vacation and had a blast. if you can get out on the point in a boat, do that. that's all i got.

oh, that and carry a weapon on the greyhound. the people on greyhound are FUCKED UP. anyone who's ridden gets the same look of remembered discomfort when it's mentioned.
    and like that... he's gone.
  • A lot of spiffy restaurants there... it has a very big foodie scene. I wanna go. (Portland)

Pike Place Market, the Space Needle, the EMP Music Museum.

All of those are cool. 13 Coins is a good restaurant...there's a good pizza place too I forget the name of it...think it starts with a Z.

You really can't go wrong though, Seattle is full of cool stuff.

Edit: Also, I'm fairly certain that during certain hours there are public transportation busses that are absolutely free (provided you ride during certain hours). I went in 2005 for the NW School show and remember riding on the city bus for free.

haha I spent 5 weeks travelling around north america on greyhound buses and I didn't have one bad experience. Except for the mariah carey loving starbucks employee trying to hit on me.....that I could have done without.

I think he is still in Seattle so be warned......

I'm a man, so hopefully I'm in the clear...? Although the Mariah Carey leaves me to question...j/k Mariah Carey fans...that are male......and don't find that even the slightest bit strange. Anyways.

Thanks for all the tips everyone!!! :)
