You'll be missed by this lifelong Steelers fan. He was a true Pittsburgher. Best of all, he was one helluva writer and a generous, generous man. He donated the rights to "The Terrible Towel" to a group of schools dedicated to folks with devastating disabilities and autism. Cope's gift has already raised more than $2 million. Yinz who don't know who he is missed out.

  • A true Pittsburgh legend. He will be missed. Rest in peace Myron.
He made listening to a game that much more fun. No one can replace that voice, those comments, and most of all just what a nice guy he was.

    A sad day, indeed...

When I lived in western PA, I would turn down the sound on the tv, and listen to the game on radio just to hear Myron...

    Random Myron/PJ story.....

I'm a NY Giants fan and had never heard Myron do a game before. A few years ago, my 3 buddies and I drove from NYC to Toledo for the Pearl Jam Vote For Change show (awesome concert w/Neil Young by the way). While we're on the way home, we're scanning the stations and come across Myron Cope. We honestly didn't know who he was, just knew that we were listening to a Steelers game and the guy was cracking us up. He had some of the funniest lines we've ever heard. When we got home, the 4 of us did some quick research and found out who he was.

The guy was an absolute classic, I feel priviledged to have gotten the chance to listen to him. I wish I could tell him how much he made that miserable ride home a lot of fun for us. RIP and DOUBLE YOI!!!
