Summer Heights High

New show on HBO, in the timeslot after Entourage on Sundays.....recently started watching it, I already love it. British/Australian humor, may offend some...VERY much in the vein of "The Office" British version. Yeah, the kid "Jonah" can be quite a teenage monster, my favorite new character on tv. If you think Cartman from South Park was bad.....meet his bigger, much nastier brother!

Discretion, bad language is used, and used well.

Awesome, awesome show. It's an Aussie spinoff after the character of Ja'mie got quite popular in Chris Lilley's show from the year before, We Can Be Heroes: Finding The Australian Of The Year.

SMUT, you should look up that show too if you liked Summer Heights High.

Jeez I much prefer our version of humour over the US style. You guys just don't do irony so well over there.

It's not that we don't do it well...it's that we kinda have to watch our asses while we do it. We can be terrible....ask Chris Rock/George Carlin once they really lets loose. We just can't go around offending every race in the book...and get away with it. ;)

I'll definately look up SMUT, but AFTER SHH finishes up....we're just at episode 4 on Sunday, and I can't wait. I wanna cheat already.

Russell Peters is awesome. Can't remember if he's American or Canadian.

  • Love that show! Mr G has to be one of the funniest characters in recent memory. I love it when he's doing some improvised drama and he comes out with: "thank God you're here, Grandma's been raped!" http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=lDAfAbRBI80

    This one's great too: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=KDuHr3mvCAU

  • I love this show. The idea of the Polynesian Pathways Programme is comedic genius. Jonah is amazing.

Teacher: 'Read the words after me.'

Jonah: 'I don't wanna read it. You fuckin read it.'

Teacher: 'I'll sound out the words slowly.'

Jonah: 'You're too fuckin slow miss. Let me.'

    :D
'We're learning songs for baby Jesus' birthday. His mum and dad were Merry and Joseph. He had a bed made of clay and the three kings bought him Gold, Frankenstein and Merv as presents.'
