I feel like I have swallowed two baseballs, I have a temperature, the hot and cold flushes are doing my swede in and I can't even swallow my own saliva.... Thats right people, I have acute tonsilitis! yay!

Started Monday afternoon with a scratchy thoat and now I'm on decidedly high doses of antibiotics that make me nauseous, two types of painkillers and 'bed rest'/off work for a week... oh and if it hasn't cleared up once my course of tablets is done, I have to have the little buggers out.

Everytime I swallow, i'm in pain and I can only taste pus. I forced some homemade minestrone soup down earlier... it tasted... Mmm pussy... and not the good kind :(

Basically, I want some sympathy cuz I feel sorry for myself :(
Been to this many PJ shows: Reading 2006 London 2007 Manchester & London 2009 Dublin, Belfast, London, Nijmegen & Berlin 2010 Manchester 1 & Manchester 2 2012...

... and I still think Drive-By Truckers are better.

ugh that sounds terrible! just think-this is something they can just remove and you'll immediately feel better! I had my tonsils out as a kid and it does hurt after...but each day it hurts a lot less!
  • You have my sympathy, nothing worse than throat/tonsil infections, the pain is awful! I've had a couple myself over the last couple of months and I was totally miserble. Good luck with the antibiotics!

Yeah, but they give you ice cream and you can run faster by being that much lighter. It is a win-win situation.

Sympathy here for you Sian, you showed plenty when I hurt my foot...or was that morbid curiosity, cos you're a fan of broken bones? :D
take care, btw, I like hot orange squash when my throat is bad.
    I came, I saw, I concurred.....

dont eat ice cream... dairy products coat the throat and allow the bacteria to breed more intensively than they all ready are... there are 2 remedies to this though

    1. one spoon per day of Mr Dunkmans Tadpole Soup (limited edition and i can offer a special deal if it means i dont have to bother bottling the stuff)

    OR

    2. chinese food... 908743 spices in one mouthfull can only mean good things.. every cold i have had has been cured by a chinese meal..
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

hmm... surely curry would be better than chinese? and option 1 intrigues me, Dunk ;)

yeah curry would be good.. see up here a "curry" is chinese food.. we have about 2 Indian restaurants and they are both shit.. we have about 19 chineses.. all are awesome and can cure everything.

option 1 is my personal favourite... its hand made, is served at body temp and its only one spoonful...
