No hitting, no fighting, no entertainment = Detroit Red Wings hockey since 1993/94 (thank you Scotty Bowman).
Not meaning to hijack this thread but I must respond.
No hitting from the Wings from 1993/1994 to present ? Do you not recall the grind line of Malty/Draper/McCarty who terrorized other teams best lines for many of those years ? Oh, well I guess in your eyes they didn't hit.
No fighting during those same years ? Well, I grant you that since the lock-out the teams has lacked an enforcer, but also, Bowman has not been the coach during these times. In 1993, Detroit still had Probert, in 1994 & 1995 Detroit had Stu Grimson, plus Keith Primeau and McCarty racked up significant penalty minutes, in 1996 Martin Lapointe and Brendan Shanahan came onto the team and they easily fought anyone, anytime, as well as in 1997, 1998, 1999, and 2000. In 2002, this is the team they gave Shaun Avery his start, which he racked up 120 PM in 22 games.
No entertainment ? You obviously are looking through a serious bias here. In those years, no team scored less than 250 goals in an entire season, so based on goals alone, if that is how you judge how exciting a team is to watch, and granted, there are many other characteristics that make a team exciting to watch, than I don't know how you can say they aren't exciting.

Year after year, I give them a chance in the playoffs and year after year, their games bore me to tears. If you can have several boring hockey games in the playoffs, you are a boring team and the Wings are a boring team. After berating the Wings as I did, you would think that I would want to see them lose but even worse than that, I just don't care if they win or lose. There is nobody on the Wings to cheer for or against. There is no personality on that team. They have no rivalries with other teams. They are just there and nobody cares.
Now back to the battle.
