today i spoke to my brother...we had a nice little chat. one of the questions he's asked me is whether i'm going to live in UK or Russia, and i said i will live in the UK for as long as i want and will only come to Russia for holidays.....

i feel like a piece of shit, sometimes i just forget where i came from. his question and our conversation reminded me of those times when i was a kid and had nothing but was happy... i will probably never be so happy in my life as i was back then, i guess you don't know how happy you are until you loose it.

for anyone who is wondering whether i'm ok or not, i am ok :) this is not one of those "come and cheer me up threads". :D

i'm a silly girl, maybe i feel a bit awkward about meeting my mother and everyone else because they're not easy people to get along with, but i see now that I've missed my country, otherwise why would i be crying now?

This is the case for me as well. I feel for you. :)

I could be wrong, but I think that's the case for most people as well. Life just will never be like it was when we were kids, as a whole.

Cool. It's a city I hope to visit one day, the Nevsky Propekt and all, wanna take a Dostoyevsky tour of all the streets and markets mentioned in his works. I like the idea of the white nights too. For some reason, in my mind it doesn't seem to conjure up all the negative sides of Russia like the social dilapidation you hear about in and outside of Moscow and elsewhere, but I'm probably very wrong there.

great! i hope when you do travel there you will enjoy it :) i think to truly understand what any country is about one must go and live in that country and figure out positives/negatives for herself/himself.

when i lived in Russia i hadn't come across any negatives aspects other than bad economy and lack of money.
