men more likely to have wavy or curly hair?

alright, this is probably a stupid thread, but i've got to ask.

a friend of mine and i have talked about this, because we both think that there are more men with wavy or curly hair than women.

other people i have asked about this said that they don't think this is the case. they've said, that women tend to straighten their hair if it's curly and so one might see more men with wavy hair.
on the other hand men usually have short hair, if it's almost shaved you wouldn't see the texture of it. and there are women who get their hair permed, so i don't know.

silly example, but think of any male band:
there is usually at least one men with wavy or curly hair in it.

what are your experinces? what do you think?

My husband has wavy hair (when he grows it) I have wavy hair but straighten it SOMETIMES....but my hubby only got wavy hair when he hit puberty...maybe has something to do with hormones??

im my immediate family the only two people who have curl/kink/wave to their hair are my second eldest daughter and my grand daughter.

male & i have curly hair, although, you are right, when it is short, no one can tell.
as far as men more than women, I dont know......

maybe you can get the govt to back you with some cash to do research.

yeah, that would be interesting...
they'd give me the money, i'd do the research, and then my result: "there's absolutely no evidence that men have more often wavy/curly hair than women." haha...they'd be happy about that!

well, a male neighbour of mine got his hair permed until a few years. he now is about 60.
my grandmother gets hers permed since she is 15, so for over 60 years now.
well, i guess this is an old peoples thing. i actually can't think of many old women in my area that haven't got their hair permed.

maybe they think a perm will add body to their thinning hair. i don't know. i havent been to a hairdresser since 1988.

could be. my grandmom says long hair aren't appropriate to her age, and short straight hair look manly.

absolutely. she is the light of my life. and so even when she wakes me from my blissful(much needed) slumber i smile.:)

plus i only cut my hair when im so agitated all that hair pisses me off merely because of its presence.

i don't like getting a haircut myself, but i would really need a new cut. LOL



to stay on topic: name a male band which hasn't at least one guy with wavy hair or curls. (a picture might help)

oh, and 80s bands are probably not a good choice...haha
