Be careful with that rug burn.

I got a really bad rug burn on the top of my foot one time (yeah - that's how I got it) and my foot became so red, swollen, and painful that I finally called the nurse advice line, thinking maybe my foot was broken. I expected her to tell me to ice it or something, but when I told her about the red line slowly traveling from my foot up my leg, she said "have someone drive you to the ER immediately and if you start to see signs of shock then call an ambulance!" I was like, WTF?! Turns out it got an infection that got into my blood stream and supposedly if it had reached a certain point I could have died.

Moral of the story: take care of your rug burn and watch out for any red lines traveling from the wound.
  • its just a bunch of red indentations. where my hairs are. that okay or no?

I'm no doctor so here's my disclaimer: This is not official medical advice. :D

Sounds okay to me, but it could still get infected. I'd keep it clean, put some Neosporin on it, maybe cover it with a bandage. But, particularly, just watch out for any signs of infection: the traveling red line, puss, a foul smell, if it doesn't seem to be getting better, etc.

    It'll probably be fine. :)

Good to know I'm not just perverted...

I used to play indoor soccer and the turf had the consistency of brillo pads. Every Sunday night I'd come home looking like I'd wiped out my motorcycle. Hurt like a bitch in the shower. Also, some people contracted a flesh eating bacteria from getting these type of wounds from this turf. Seriously. After I first heard about that I was wearing kneeguards, I didn't care how lame they looked.

Boys are so silly.. a girl would never let her leg be ripped off for the love of the game..

or maybe they would.. but this girl over here was the girl who did cartwheels and made daisy chains in the field during soccer..
