I love how everyone hates him for 'interfering' with the ball. Yet, no one blamed the Cubs for blowing a big lead in Game 6 and losing Game 7.

Cubs fans always have an excuse!

Yeah, people have selective memories....same with Bill Buckner...no one remembers that was game 6 and there was a game 7 that they could have won.

better yet...they should have a steve bartman day at wrigley....

    and re-enact the entire play....

but this time when alou goes for the ball....instead of bartman reaching out for the ball....

they should let bartman reach out and grab alou by the back of his head.....and smash his skull off the concrete wall....

he never made a dime off his celebrity...he could have gone on every major talk show...but he refused...

he could have had a gazillion endorsements...but he refused....

instead he just wanted to be left alone...

and 5 years later this piece of shit moises alou says he wouldnt have caught it anyway????

alou should have just kept his fucking mouth shut....

its strange becaus e if you watch the replay, there was a guy next to bartman who reached WAAAAY over to try to get that ball and missed. Bartman kinda barely got out of his seat and reached out his hand.

    Poor dude.

granted he was probably a little steamed at how the game was turning out and just overreacted, but he still should have said this ALOTTT sooner.

It's always been completely ridculous that Bartman gets the blame for that play and the Cubs collapse that year. Where's Alex Gonzalez and his botched DP ball? Or Prior blowing up the rest of that inning? Or the fact it was Game 6 and that they went on to lose in Game 7 after being up 3-1 in the series? And after watching the replay, where's the guy sitting next to Bartman on his right side, doing the exact same thing, sticking his hands out for the ball(just like any fan would do)? He's insanely lucky it hit Bartman and not him. So many people could be blamed, the fact is the Series was approaching and the Cubs flinched, and it's a shame this regular fan gets the blame.

And F- Alou for saying this now. Watch the replay, there is no doubt in my mind he would've caught that ball. What a baby.
He floated back down 'cause he wanted to share, his key to the locks on the chains he saw everywhere.

Alou would have easily caught that ball. That said, there is no reason to come out 5 years later and try to defend the kid who's been flamed every day of his life since that moment.
Gonzalez should have made that easy play at short. If anyone is to blame it's him.

    Leave Steve Bartman ALONE!

However here's some fun with...Go Blame It On Steve Bartman. As a Red Sox fan I never blamed Buckner, the Sox plenty of chances to STILL win the WS.

Also If Alou had just walked away after the play SB would never have heard of.

were you in his position trying to catch the ball? didnt think so. if he said he wouldnt have caught it, HE WOULDNT HAVE CAUGHT IT.

So you decide to believe him now 5 years after the fact? While Alou is no Andrew Jones in the field, he's also no Sammy Sosa.
That said, getting back to the real fuck-up of that game which took place at shortstop...

    You heard it here first.

    Cubs take the NL Central.

    A.Ram has a career year.
    Lee has an off year.
Fukudome ends with ~.340 ave. 28 HR
    Pie has a miserable year.
Soto steps up and hits ~ .320

Z keeps getting minor injuries (13 wins)
Lilly leads the team in wins with 16
Lieber has a good year...high ERA but a lot of wins.
Wood has a Rod Beck kinda year. Very nerve racking but a good year.
    Marmol really steps up!

    You'll see! :D

I don't care what the hell the man says 5 years later, watch the replay, it speaks for itself. The ball is maybe 6 inches away from landing directly in his glove. Afterall, it was mostly his reaction to the play that caused the whole Blame Bartman theory, so to come out and say this is totally absurd, unfair and untrue.
