Mauer and Morneau is the best 1-2 hitting combo in baseball.
Anyway, I still think the Tigers will sort out their lineup issues and take the AL Central. Boston will win the East with the Yankees getting the wild card. The Angels will win the west. I don't track the national league much, but it looks pretty clear that the Dodgers are going to roll over whoever else lands in the playoffs anyway. Hopefully the Yankees and the Sox exhaust each other in round one of the playoffs, giving the Tigers the chance to edge the Angels and pull off the upset to get into the series, where they will get smoked by the Dodgers like they did by the Cardinals last time around.

I agree with the OP.
Rangers are 7-2 against the Angels so far this year. Whoo!

How do they set the matchups? I guess I never paid attention before, but I figured the wild card team would play the winningest team, which I figure would be the Sox and Yankees, even though both of them will probably have better records than the other division leaders.
#1 Red Sox
#2 Tigers
#3 Rangers
#4 Yankees
The Sox woould play Texas and Detroit would play New York.. so on and so forth

Wow this is a pipe dream if I ever seen one. You really what that old hag named pedro and his 6 million dollars for half a season. Also hallayday aint going no where. I don't know any team that wants veron wells 20 million dollar a year contract.
Sammi: Wanna just break up?
Ah, so in other circumstances though, the wild card would play the top team right?
