What was your favorite PJ concert moment?

It can be a parking lot moment, a song, a show, anything related to a PJ concert experience. I have a few but back in the day, when the first in line meant you got the best tickets-NORMALLY, my buddy and I "camped out" in CAMDEN, NJ- America's Armpit- to get tickets in 98 from 10 pm until on sale time. I remember tossing a frisbee, and getting shitty with some fellow fans-amongst other things, eventually getting in line, standing there for HOURS, only to fall victim to the first Lottery system ever implemented at the E-Center. HOLY FUCK. I wanted BLOOD. I wound up getting fucking LAWN TICKETS. I was in the 10C, but wasn't sure of how the mail order ticket thing worked since Philly didn't make the cut in previous tours... but in retrospect, I should have figured that system out. It is just AWESOME to think of how many countless hours have been spent in the long ride with PJ, from sitting on the sidewalk in NYC to get Irving Tix with a buddy, to Beating the shit out of someone in the 100+degree TFC 98 pit for almost trampling my girlfriend during Brain of J...I am very thankful for the memories, and the great music...Lets hear some of yours.

Jeez. Everything from 10/03/05. What a perfect night and a perfect show. The mic blowing out during Crazy Mary, and then they keep on going and Boom and Mike play one of the best jams that song has had.

Also, getting the Garden shaking this year numerous times was fantastic. Just that whole 1 week period this summer over which i saw the band was so memorable.

    EV Solo Shows:

    NYC I
    NJPAC

    I. LOVE. YIELD.
  • Although I prefer other shows as a whole experience, the "It's OK" Daughter tag at Jones Beach 2000 was such an emotional experience. Unforgettable, it is burned into my brain as an instantly memory.
  • Being front row centre in Massey Hall night 2 to here Ed blow the roof off. Greatest concert moment of any concert I've ever seen.
There's no I in team, but there's me.

    Its a tough decision between Hartford 08 and Mansfield 1 08 :)

...I have to say Hartford, the whole show was unbelievable -and to witness it from 10th row - sick! :D

the betterman - moment in Mansfield though.... man, I will never forget it.

Nice. I shared a similar emotional experience for that song at Va Beach 00...I remember it was the first show they had done after Roskilde...And Ed cited that incident prior to It's OK..."It'd be nice to start anew..."

  • 12/07/93 - Seattle Center Arena. Mike had just finished a blisterinig solo and was in a zone. He took off his guitar, threw it into the speakers, and dove headfirst into the mosh pit. He crowd surfed over us until we gently passed him back to the stage. Eddie just stood there and stared in disbelief. My alltime classic PJ moment that I've experienced firsthand.

I'd say this past summer was sooooooooooooo fucking AWESOME!!

6/24/08-6/25/08 my first time in MSG and chilling in Manhattan....awesome experience.(even if the poster shit turned into a nightmare!)

6/28/08 first time my wife has been this close to the stage (6th row) and seeing how "different" it is when your up close & seeing/hearing the "betterman ovation"..Ed's expression was priceless!

6/30/08 I bought myself a front row ticket (wife & daughter sat in my 10c seats)
and during a song-Mike solo..Ed's running across the stage in front of me and i reach out as far as my 6'2" ass can reach and he grabs my hand and shakes it!! then when the tiny chick next to me(i heard she is from Florida) gets his harmonica i look at him like "what about me??" and he runs over and gets me a pick and comes back and places it in my hand!AWESOME..i was so stunned i don't think i even said thank you...i think i was too busy smiling from ear to ear..then at the end of the night i caught a tambourine(almost killing these 2 tiny Asian chicks next to me...sorry about that girls, you guys were really cool!)

so i'm sure some of you heard me tell this tale before..but i can't help wanting to relive that perfect day/night

oh....and seeing Ed do his solo thing and hearing ARC live...gave me goosebumps and brought a tear to my eye..simply amazing and heart felt!the solo shows were a real treat! (9th row center stage for the second night @ the Opera house in Boston thanks to 10c :)...i love you guys!!)

thanks PJ,10c and fellow fans for all the great times and memories!!! hope to make many more!

Ed's famous Duct tape speech during Porch, Randall's Island '96 (forget which night though), will always stand out in my memory...
I met my wife here...you can too! Don't lose hope!

Hands down - Ed singing Hawaii '78 in Honolulu and then hours later dancing around the stage with Bono.

No offense to U2 here, but man - PJ does "RITFW" so much better!
  • Nothingman Tampa 08, waited forever to hear that one live, my all time fave, just burst into tears!

Pinkpop when Eddie did a mosh pit with so many people there. I'm in awe when I see footage of the massive audience.

I'll never forget my first Pearl Jam concert in Chicago, 10-9-00, the day after the Ice Bowl...the boys were so happy to be inside that they played a long, fantastic setlist. Ticketmaster seated my friend and I behind a pole...we were like, "screw this" and went and stood in one of the balcony aisles near the rail (this was before security was really strict about that). One of the best nights of my life.
