Why would you want to do that?

hi Esther, now we are all going to be sick, thanks
If it is out of warranty you pay $99 for another year and a box that works, including shipping both ways... you pay some guy to fix it, you erase any chance of getting it fixed by Microsoft, EVER, and run the risk of him bricking your console... not even worth considering.
well, what i did when mine broke was sell it because i just wasn't going to go refurb, and i got $210 for a broken box. every single person that i know who has bought a 360 has had to send it in to get fixed. about half of those people had their replacement box break within a few months.
isn't it about time this stops?

Good luck getting $200 for a broken box these days... lucky if you get $100
Me Too. I've been waiting for mine to break for about 6 months.
launch system? damn.
i just sold my box 2 months ago.
i couldn't believe the guy offered me that much....that's another reason i had to get rid of it.

How do you know it was new and not a refurb? 90% of the people i know with 360s have to send them in and 90% of them say it is a bullshit process. Most of them get refurbs back.
They sent a letter back with it saying (paraphrasing) "To get you back to enjoying your X Box sooner we sent you a brand new one" If they meant just brand new to me I don't know, but the new one seems to work fine. I don't know how you know its a refurb, but I was pleasantly suprised at how easy the process was of getting a replacement.
