Just watching a report that says first born children are academic, intelligent and leaders. Aparently they are smarter than the other children of the family, and more mature.
Middle children are meant to be resilient and move out of home first.
Youngest are favoured, spoilt and immature...what do you reckon???
My bro is the oldest but is not much of a leader and he moved out of home first....

I was the last of 4 sons. I'm the only one to go to university and have always been referred to as the "academic one" (God knows why, I'm intelligent but lazy as hell and a total slacker).

Was never spoilt or immature either. Probably the most mature of my brothers too and one of them is 30 this year (I'm 19).

So that report does not apply to all families it seems :D

Wonder how the first child to a mother and second to a father works out.

I always get confused by this because I was born first...but I have an older brother who was adopted...so technically I was raised as the middle child...but the only girl. I was more academic and more mature...but def not a leader :p More resilient for sure. My younger brother is mature too though...my older brother was definitely the least mature and probably spoiled more

  • I am the youngest in my family...and also the highest IQ...highly functioning. :D I have to say - I disagree with these findings.

It's bollocks. I was the runt of the family, got all the beatings, and have the highest IQ.

i'd definitely say that i'm more academic and intelligent as the first born. though i think that that had more to do with my parents wanting to prove the doctors wrong who told them that i would be slow for my age (i was born 2 months premature).

i think my sister would disagree w/ the youngest child being favored more...she's convinced that my parents "love me more"...which is crap! i just learned at an early age not to get myself into trouble and just go listen to music :D

i do agree w/ the leader part...my sister can be a bit too stubborn sometimes, which hinders her as a leader imo. but, she's got street smarts and a lot more common sense than me at times ;) it all evens out i guess!
yes...i do feel like a human. i do not feel like a tree.

im the oldest but not the smartest or any of what they listed as first born crap. im no leader by a mile, im not a follower but i dont like people following either. also ive always seen the first born as the test child. so parents can try and raise the other kids right, by seeing what didnt work the first time.

I agree with the youngest being spoiled - mine is a little hellion. In my family, though, I have to disagree between the 1st and 2nd. My middle child is more of a leader, she's smarter and athletic. And my oldest has always struggled in school...
I really screwed that up. I really Schruted it.
