I have Verizon and that crapola is costing me almost 72 dollars a month! And I don't have internet access on it! :(
What can I do? This is killing me.
I still have a landline because it is what all of my Drs and such have. And that is a seperate bill altogether.
Help. :(

First, I would contact your cell phone provider's customer service and tell them you're not satisfied with your service and that you would like to talk to account services or the such. Just tell them the plan you have isn't affordable for you and you need something more modest - they'll work with. If that doesn't work tell them you're disgusted with their service and you're willing to pay termination fees just to get out of your plan...I've done that a couple times and they cut certain charges off my bill. Again, they'll work with you.

I dropped Verizon and started receiving my phone service through my cable company. I was paying about $80.00 a month for my phone service plus the $120.00 for cable and internet service. I added phone to that and it went up to $150.00. I ended up saving $50.00 a month. Also the only reason I'm even paying $150.00 is because I have the premium package for cable. If you just get the basic package I'm sure it would cost far less than what I'm paying.

Call the phone company and tell them you are disgusted! lol
So you called, told them you are disgusted and still pay that much? :(
Why??? Why??? It shouldn't be this difficult. The lines and satellites and all that crap are already there???
I am getting a job at the phone company.
    And the cable company.

I hear your pain and I'm telling you contact you cable provider and switch your phone service over to them. You will end up paying less per month, especially if you have all three service (cable, internet and phone) with them. A lot of the time they give you a great initial rate, for a year or two, once that is up call them up and tell them you are thinking of switching and they will give you another deal.

I run a business on the side and use my blackberry to do all business transactions so it's kind of a necessity(the price). Haven't had as much business lately, and hence I am bitching.

And always use words like "digusted" and "bad faith"....Businesses listen to these words...

do what i did, cancel those suckers , then you can...

    a) call your local/national providers (verizon if your community is fios wired) and get one of the bundle packages (if you want cable, internet, and landline phone)

    b) look at local and national providers to see who is the cheapest and switch service and keep your #

    c) look at phone only providers like Vonage, i think they are about $25-30 per month

    d) get rid of the land line phone completely and just use your cell. thats what i do and i have zero issues with it (best option in my humble opinion :) )

I don't usually do this, but... for x-mas, I am mailing you my cat, Mr. Chuckles. He has been trained to meow Christmas carols and shake his bell collar. I also have a Salvation Army change bucket you can use. Just set up Mr. Chuckles outside a mall or busy store and then kick back and wait for the money to roll in. Well, you actually have to go empty the bucket and give Mr. Chuckles a little food once in a while, but you get the idea…

don't cry... these companies are crooks... so get pissed!

you have options, just take your time to sit down and look at them and choose whats best

i canceled comcast cable (the worst company in the world) and switched to direct tv, cut my cable bill by 2/3's... my friend has just done the same thing and used me as a reference and we both got a $50 credit

i have verizon for my land line, fios internet and cable, and pay under $100 a month. and no, not a special fee.....just the triple-play package or whatever you call it. i think verizon or the cable co. you get a better deal the more business you give em, period. i DO know some neighbors who have their phone thru the cable company, and when the'r cable goes out - whcih does seem to happen more often than phone lines - they also lose their phone. once our cell phone service plan is up with AT&T, we are also switching it to verizon. LOVE the fios service! hopefully the cell phone rates will be just as competitive. i am amazed that between the triple package + 2 cell phones ($67 a month) almost $185 after all the taxes.....and for what? hahaha. amazing......

Yes if you have the triple package with Verizon you will save money, without having to switch, but I don't know if Fios is available everywhere. I know where I live you can only get Optimum, as far as cable is concerned, and when I lived in my old place, different town, you could only have Comcast. I have also heard from a bunch of family and friends that they where terribly disappointed with Fios' internet service.

yes, i do realize it all depends where you are. i've never had cable at all. only recently decided to get it thru verizon, but we've had fios since it began. we were lucky, one of the first areas in the country to get it. personally, i cannot imagine anyone being disappointed with their internet service - it is the BEST! it is the fastest connection and it never goes out on us. love, love, love it! i would never get rid of fios, ever...so for us, the verizon package was the way to go. besides, as i said - i like a reliable land-line, 'just in case'.....and i know far too many who lose their phone when cable lines go down, which seems to happen often here for whatever reason. i *heart* fios! :)

I used to love my previous cable provider, Comcast. Their internet service was amazing plus their cable packages where great. Where I live now I have to use Optimum and I fucking hate it. As for the phone service I really don't care since I most use my cell phone anyway.

i had posted b4 how my dad got rid of his landline and replaced it with "magic jack" -- local and long distance calls for $19/year unlimited. A child can install it it is so easy. my question is, if it's via the computer, does it have to be turned on 24/7. I would think it would run up your electric bill. I too have too many different phone bills.
