Reign Over Me:what did you think

TrixieCatTrixieCat Posts: 5,756
Yes, I know I am late to the party...nothing new. lol

I just watched it the other day and I really was moved by it.
For anyone who hasn't seen it...not for the depressed of heart. Oh my.
I thought Don Cheadle and Adam Sandler were awesome together. It was so refreshing to see such a different side of Sandler's talent. He truly knocked me out. I think maybe alot of that is due to the fact that I didn't expect it.
Oh, and to hear Bruce singing Out in the Street...:)
I know alot of people complained that it just kept going on and on...but I wanted that..I needed to see what happened.
And Donald Sutherland was awesome...though the guy from the Office did not fit...

I liked it. I didn't think Sandler could pull off the serious role but he had excellent on-screen chemistry with Cheadle.

  • Yea, it was very good I thought. Sandler was better than I thought he'd be.

    LOVED IT!!

Adam Sandler doesnt get near as much credit as he should as an actor. Good storyline, although sad, prob hit home home for a few people. If you do like Adam, and havent seen Spanglish, you should..Another great performance by him.

He was hysterical in Spanglish! :)

I agree about Saffon Burrows, though she is quite pleasing to the eyes.

I enjoyed Reign over me. Thought it was a little choppy at parts, but was good overall.

Loved it. Maybe because I went in to it thinking it would be mediocre at best.
  • Greatly acted... nicely shot... excellent story... maybe slightly too sentimental in places. The material was powerful enough already without some of the over-egged emotion.

  • I liked it.

I have a wife and three kids so I could kind of relate. I would lose it if I lost all of them (especially all at the same)

I thought it was a good movie, but 'Spanglish' could go fuck itself..

I liked the movie. I think Sandler is a really good actor and it showed in this movie. For me, the music made the movie. The courtroom scene with The Who playing in the background made it super intense.

oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

I loved the movie. Absolutely loved it. Bought it for my girlfriend for Christmas. I liked that it is a slow moving piece, long movies are treats if they are good movies.

I watched it until he finally opened up about what happened - I got so emotional being a NY'er that I couldn't watch the remainder of the movie - got too upset - know too many people who died that day.

Is it as depressing as Click? Talk about being caught off guard... that movie started out funny and then for some reason turned into one of saddest movies I've seen. I try to stay away from those movies, but he tricked me:o

Have you seen punch drunk love?

that is a great movie...I like Adam Sandler in Spanglish too...but Love, Reign over Me...was a little too sappy. I liked the movie, for the most part...but there was time when I got anxious...I get anxious at overdone sentimentality.
