Yep we went for it! After nine years of love, sweet love, we got married on the 6th of August this summer. As my sister lives in the north of Italy nearby the beautiful lake of Lugano, we decided to get married there.
We found a great spot on the Swiss side of the border, so our marriage was a two-country-in-a-day fest

For the whole story:
We stayed at a campsite near my sis place. About 40 ppl came over, some stayed in a motel, some at my sisters house. It was extremely busy for us, but we had fun BBQ-ing and swimming in the lake with friends. Not to forget eating fabulous Italian ice-creams, drinking cappucinos, and Italian food and sunshine.
During the big day, my hubbie picked me up at my sis house. We had lunch at my sisters and then went through the border to Switzerland. Here we got married in a old and little baroque painted room with view on the lake. It was a very short civil ceremony, but my dad also held a speech which was very special (yes, I cried my eyes out...haha).
Afterwards we climbed up on hundreds of steps to get to an old church with view on the lake. Outside on the lawn we drank champagne and everyone had the time to enjoy the view. We took our time in the little village and in teh evening went back to Italy to have a fantastic dinner / dance party in the garden of a restaurant. The whole day was exactly as we wanted, although it was a tiny bit too hot...:D
We went on honeymoon to Thailand, which was lovely and very relaxing and held a garden-party in Holland in september for those who couldnt join us in Switzerland. All in all, great fun...you should try it to
Take care my friends XX

Oh we didnt spend too much at all. For the whole thing including honeymoon and party in the Netherlands about 8.000 Euros. We were lucky that the photographer is a good friend and my husbands brother a goldsmith. He made the rings. The restaurant was most expensive, but then we got some great healthy food. The owner does everything organically and that you could tast,...mjum!!
THANKS ALL FOR THE COMPLIMENTS!
