The Long Way Round / Down

Anybody seen this great show about Ewan mcGregor and Charlie Boorman who went on a trip on motobikes.
During the first show they travel from Britain to New York "The long way round" through europe, russia, kazachstan, etc.

Second show they travel down Africa on motorbikes.

Great show! I love travelling, so fantastic to see what they are going through, the landscapes, the cultures, but also the troubles and on the other hand the great people they meet, and the fun and humor between the guys.

Makes me want to pack my backpack right now and GO!
Got a call last night from a friend of mine who I met in Peru and that even made my travel-homesickness worse....!

But cool show if you havent seen it! Even if you dont care for bikes...hee, I dont, I am a girl, but still loved to watch it.

    I've got Long Way Round but, unfortunately, have yet to watch the whole thing. The episodes I did see (like the part where the third guy breaks his bike and the buy the russian beater that turns out to be better than the expensive bikes they are using) were pretty good.

    I remember seeing the commercial at a friend's house on an American TV show, I believe it was on the Discover or Traveling channel. I didn't get to see it though.

    I'd loved to do some like that in my lifetime.

    My favorite is where they have to eat soup made out of hundreds of sheep, goat and cow testicles....testicle soup yum...and Ewan just chews it away without blinking...haha HERO!

    i got pissed off with his wife though... she was weak and kept crying all the time... like Edirons420.

    plus she spoiled the guy's tour and I bet Ewan was only pretending to be nice about her coming... i bet he was thinking... "oh bollocks.. cant i get a minutes peace to bike around the world.. inconsiderate french wifelet"
    oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

    LOL, I havent seen that part yet, but my bf has...he really hated it too.
    I bet Charlie and she are getting on warmly nowadays :D
