Whoah, that's a lot of puss.

But chances are that's a different pyogenic infection. Staph aren't likely to infect someone unless they are immunocompromised (i.e. ill with something else), which that girl didn't seem to be.

Nice. Reminds me of having to drain my dog's bite wound. Nice golf-ball sized mound (on a 10 lb. dachshund) that took about 3 days to drain completely. If I had three arms, I would have taken pictures, but I needed both to hold him down 'cause it obviously hurt him like hell. Had to muzzle him, too. Poor little man. He's okay now, of course, but he was a pretty cranky guy afterwards, even though I gave him tonnes of treats.

Edit: Just watched the 2nd video ... that person is going to have quite the bruise after that round of squeezing. The music was a nice touch.

It could be... ish, in a quite unlikely way (could be any of several hundred bacteria to be honest, including MRSA). Although how they can tell it's methicillin resistant is beyond me

Yep, but do people really go to the hospital over a zit?

By the looks of things that's the first time that zits been popped so how the hell can they tell what species it is?

I don't mean to be preachy about these things, but my Microbiology degree has to come in useful somewhere, and well this seems to be the only use for it. In short: People are retards.

    My point is...

The zit COULD be MRSA, Staph aureus can cause zits with pus (MR or otherwise). But it's unlikely as there's a whole load of different bacteria that can also cause zits (Any other staphylococcus species, Neisseria spp., E. coli etc. etc.). There's no way of simply looking at a zit and telling what caused it. The youtube guy probably just picked the only bacteria name they knew.

Of course, they may have got it checked out and identified as MRSA. But still, unlikely.

But don't get bogged down in science, pus is cool!!!!!! Kinda... in a gross way.

gotcha. yeah the youtube folks prob had no clue. the unlikeliness of it being MRSA was the reason for my above post

I would never think I would see staph infection and fun in the same sentence...We need to stop overusing antibiotics...
These cuts are leaving creases. Trace the scars to fit the pieces, to tell the story, you don't need to say a word.
