Not long ago, Mark Madden (who really only seems to like old metal bands) from ESPN Radio in Pittsburgh was having callers call in and say who they thought was the greatest American rock band. To my surprise, when someone called in for Pearl Jam, Madden seemed to be cool with that. Actually, they were the only group from the last 20 years that he didn't immediately shoot down.
They are slowly, but surely etching their place as an immortal legend of rock (I know we all love them, but their reputation seems to grow beyond us)
