top 10 reasons to love winter:

10) snow is just pretty

9) nordic or downhill skiing (your preference)

8) shoveling is good exercise and you get to meet your neighbors

7) running is more exciting, and you don't have to wear shorts and have your thighs rub together. oh and you don't swell when you run in winter.

6) I look damn cute in hats!

5) boots!

4) snowshoeing

3) gingerbread lattes

2) the air just seems cleaner

1) you don't sweat through your clothes walking to the train in the morning!

I don't know about the rest of you, but my face leaks in winter. Mucus runs out of my nose like a open spigot and my eyes excrete water even faster.

I try to snort the mucus back in so I don't have a constant stream running in public, but then it ends up in my throat making me gag.

    Yea, I love winter too.

    winters gorgeous!!

obviously being in Scotland means cold winters but i love frost, white mornings, seeing the air you breathe... this is why i wouldnt like to live in Australia or Florida... wearing shorts in winter just isnt right... as for having a barbecue on Xmas Day?!?! that shit is for cannibals in the jungle.. or Jeffrey Dahmer
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

  • I wish I loved winter like you all do...I appreciate the change in seasons, but I would be happy without Nov 1st - April 1st...(and I live in So. Cal) I love spring and summer days when the sun sets around 8:30 and you can swim at the beach until sunset...

well, I would be willing to bet that winter isn't very interesting in southern CA...I lived in central NC for 2 years and there wasn't really "winter" it was like just a bit colder, but not cold enough to be fun, and of course no snow.

I lived in the Pacific North West for a year and got plenty of snow and although it was beautiful and interesting the first few days of snowfall...I quickly got tired of it and longed for summer...Even with snowboarding & skiing...I just think that some of us are just naturally drawn to different seasons...maybe it has to do with when & where you are born??
  • Winter is too fecking cold.

    I love winter....

I love clear, cold mornings when you can see your breath.
I love clear, cold nights when you can see the stars.
I love long, cold walks, then snuggling up with a blanket and hot chocolate.
I love the morning frosts, when you can see spiderwebs.
I love the ice along the edges of leaves.
I love the snow, the way it makes everything silent, and pretty.

I love winter, especially since I played hockey all the time growing up either at the rink or in my backyard.

My body, specifically my lungs, feels differently about the season.

I miss winter in the midwest.
Towns just shut down when it's way cold.
We seen it @ the point of -40 degrees fahrenheit for like 5-7 days
    during the 70's.

    Snowed in, I miss that.
    School cancellations were awesome.
We lived in a rural area, farmland, country side, gravel roads.
Country gravel roads might be buried in 2-8 feet of snowdrifts.
One might have to walk to the hard surface road to meet the school bus.

It's all about fresh chilled winter walks thru the woods.
Chopping wood, stacking wood, woodstove or fireplace heat.
(Warms you twice the wood does)

And who can not love a day of ice fishin?
Addictive like a drug ice fishin is.
Sled rides down hill, pulled behind 4x4 trucks on roads, in fields, or on lakes/rivers.
    Yeah, winter kicks ass.
