hehehehehe he's cute!!! I love little funny animals.
I want a BIG pet though! (allergic to cats, can't take care of a dog...I suppose I can't take care of a pig either...though maybe pigs are smart enough to take care of themselves...:))
a lot of those potbellied pigs are crossbred with other pigs, so they get a lot bigger than they should. problem is you dont know it until they start growing.
richard kind (of mad about you & spin city) was the roommate......him telling that story is one of the funniest things i've ever heard....:D:D
OH KITTY!!!!!!!
Shit! Was it Richard Kind?!? I forgot that part!!! I love when he told it on Dennis Miller Live!! I really need to dig those tapes out of storage!!! OH KITTY!!! LOL!!!

that's right it was on dm live.....you're right, i gotta find my tapes as well.....:D
i met richard kind once....almost hit me with his car....very nice guy!
The first thing I think of when pondering a type of pet is "what would the poop situation be with this thing?" It think the reason I have never had a dog, despite always wanting one, is that I don't want to commit to a lifetime of picking up it's poop.
I wonder what you do with pigs. Could they go for a walk? Could you train it to use a box? A diaper?

the poop situation really is the first consideration.
First, a lot of places did pass "anti-pet pig" ordinances back when the pot-bellied fad was heating up.
Second, pigs have very sharp and utile teeth...especially males. They, even the pot-bellied ones, will bite the ever loving shit out of you if make them ill. My grandmother made two attempts at having pot-bellied for a pet. I have felt the wrath of pig's teeth more than once.
Third, pigs are social animals. You need at least two pigs or you have biting problems.
Fourth, you over-feed....they will grow, and grow, and grow.
All the world will be your enemy, Prince with a thousand enemies, and whenever they catch you, they will kill you. But first they must catch you, digger, listener, runner, prince with the swift warning. Be cunning and full of tricks and your people shall never be destroyed.
I don't see why anyone can't keep a pet pig but I really hope you do some research into the proper environment it needs to be kept in first. I think you might have a fair bit of work ahead of you and if you have a problem with the poop, it's probably not a good idea.
If you're aloud to in your area, you might have to have the RCPCA (Or the equivelant) to come and check your garden/pig pen out.

Tybird said exactly my answer....
oh and they stink to high heaven!!!!! Good to have only as raising food...
smart buggers, my ex had one that would turn on a keyboard with its snout and dance for an oreo ...
oh and learned how to open the fridge so it could gorge itself
This was our pet pig Niki....he was put down this past year at almost 12 years old. He did not stay small....weighed around 150 pounds. We were told he was a pot bellied pig..he was not, he was a cross. We were also unable to house brake him. I do not recommend them as pets unless you have a nice yard and pen for them. They can be very destructive in the house....if they want food, entire cabinet doors will be torn off the hinges to get to it!

... and I still think Drive-By Truckers are better.
Friends of mine had 2 pigs they were feeding up for food. They couldn't go through with it as they had become so attached. Now they have these 2 huge pigs as pets.

I'm not seriously considering getting a pig. As I said I can't take care of a dog right now, I certainly can't have a pig. I just saw one on TV and thought it was really cute.
