man, this show is sooo sad, but I love to watch it. luckily no one close to me has had major problems with addiction, so I learn a lot from watching it. makes me sooooo thankful that I never got into anything like this. I actually started crying a bit during some of the episodes. very moving show. I feel kinda bad that people are going through this on TV, but it's educational for everyone and if it's the thing the family can think of...

  • I admit it.. whenever I am home and this is on I watch it :o I know it is terrible and like a car accident and I can't look away. Very sad. The guy that was over 500lbs.. so moving, so sad.

If nothing else it makes me grateful for my family :o
  • this show is like crack. its so depressing but i cant stop watching it. I feel so terrible for the parents of these people. The show seems to help the people involved, though, so it cant be all bad.

i think i might know a couple of people who might make an appearance on there one day. few relatives, friends... damn i know too many screwed up people :(

  • That show is heartbreaking.

I always feel so hopeful for the people when they accept treatment, and then I feel so dejected whenever it says at the end that they've had a relapse. :(

Yeah he did. He had a really unhealthy home life. His father even ended up seeking help. The show just sucks me in...

  • I watch this show too, it is great and I can't stop watching it.

It's always inspirational to see someone turn his or her life around. Sometimes they don't change and that's depressing but it's a real portrayal of life.

my family planned an intervention for me... i walked in and everyone was in my living room, with notepads... and between sobs struggled out the words "the cds.. the tshirts... the long distance shows and random fans entering your life... eddie... conversing with red wings fans! enoughs enough!"

i didnt change tho... which i'm sure depresses you!

  • I always get so excited when they accept treatment. Then soooo sad when they relapse. But to see the people (who so far) stay clean is just amazing. I give them so much credit.

I have a good friend who is a heroin addict and it just makes me wish he could get help......

One show that stuck in my mind was this girl who went to rehab in a limo, brought her kitty with her. She had made $ in a divorce. She was a TERRIBLE alcoholic and couldn't keep her shit straight. It was just heartbreaking. Lived in a mansion, unfurnished with her bottle of rum.

I saw Hard To Imagine LIVE at MSG!
  • I cried during one show with this girl who had anorexia, her family just seemed so desperate. they had to live with her day in and day out and just watch it. that's what always gets me about the show, how the addiction is just so much a part of everyone's lives.
  • I can't watch this show for the same reason I can't watch Extreme Makeover Home Edition. These shows just drain you emotionally. It's great that these people are approached for assistance but like EM, four seconds in and you wanna start ballin'
