Extra gum as a "5-calorie snack" in some kind of diet food context.

that is the DUMBEST thing I have ever heard.

Is it possible for anyone ELSE to jump on the diet bandwagon?

Yeah, I've seen that commercial. It's beyond ridiculous.

just you wait. it hasn't hit market yet, but this fall i am going to unleash "the tank." it's an oxygen tank that ensures that each breath you draw is not tainted by calories from dust particles or anything else.

    Wise words Master Yoda!

I actually heard excessive gum chewing isn't great for your stomach (activating digestion with nothing to digest). But I'm not sure how true this is, I heard this over 10 years ago.

what a great marketing ploy...way to up your sales by playing off people's love of fad diets ;) i wonder how much weight i'll lose by chewing my orbit gum for a snack...it has less than 5 calories! i'm on the fast track to skinny-town :)

I kind of get it. A snack-suppressant/satiator, maybe?

Say you have a sweet tooth and it hits you in the afternoon...instead of grabbing some chocolate you can satisfy it with a stick of sugar-free gum...

    ...or something.
