There is probably a policy for this sort of thing. Check with HR. I'm sure you're not the only person who has declined (or tried to decline) using a photo on the web site.
A my last job, we all had to have our photos taken for an intranet-based directory. I HATED my photo so much, because for some reason my breasts looked ridiculously huge. I thought I was the only one who noticed this...but then once I got to know a few people there, they all mentioned it to me...lol.

When I worked at EPA we had to get photos for our security badges, and I was wearing a v-neck top. For some reason, the angle or something, it looked like I was wearing a super low-cut top and was sporting a ton of cleavage. It was so embarrassing, I had to walk around with that thing stuck to me for the whole world to see the whole time I worked there.
You have to sign a release form for them to post your pictures. They can't do it without permission.
coolio.
It's just a marketing thing, you know, making everyone seem "real." But I don't like having photos involved with work- photos can lead to discrimination, etc. I don't have any really specific concerns, but I just think it's not a path I want to go down.

Oh, I know. I wouldn't be comfortable with it, either. I don't really see why it's necessary.
