Pains in heart, should I be worried?

I'm not talking about heartbreak, I'm talking about actual pain! And of course, a Pearl Jam message board is the best place to ask.

Occasinally, I will get these pains in my heart/chest area that feels like my heart is been clamped. They're not too painful but they've been getting more frequent in the past couple of months.

I'm 18 years old. I'm not the fittest of people but I walk a couple of miles each day and I'm not overweight (I'm very skinny).

Should I be worried about this? Is it just growing pains? Indigestion? My uncle died from some form of heart disease but still I don't think that's connected.

    There are these people called doctors and they are trained to diagnose these types of things... unfortunately you have to get off the computer and go outside and visit one of these doctors for them to diagnose what is going on.

    It could be gas, or stress/anxiety. Depends like 90% on your diet.

    In any event...go to the walk in clinic...piece of cake baby. Ain't no-ting.

    i had this heart pain thing for a while as well.. doctor gave me a fancy name for it... but basically my heart was sticking to my insides... and then after 20 seconds of me thinking i was dying it would just kinda unclamp itself off.. and then it would be back to normal... i'm not convinced by his theory but it was scary as fuck i tell thee.

    I've not had it in ages though... *thank maradona*
    oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

    My brother and I have these stabbing pains in our chest sometimes, in our hearts. Like you say it feels like my heart is being clamped. It can hurt a lot. We're both young guys, we sport, excercise, eat relatively healthily. We went to the doctor, on seperate occassions and to different doctors and they said the same thing. It's not our heart but a muscle, or something. It's nothing to be worried about.

    However, when there's a history of heart disease in your family - even when there's not - you'd be a fool if you didn't see a doctor, especially if this happens occassionally.
