Ordering stuff off Play.com (which, btw, are selling some Pearl Jam shirts for £5, snap em up!) and I'm in the mood to watch some sort of a politically themed thriller film - kind of like the films Oliver Stone makes.

Syriana is one of the greatest films ever made, IMO. I know lots of people would disgree with me on that.
But, most of those people complain that the movie is "convoluted."
If you pay attention to what's going on, you'll discover that it really is a fascinating movie filled with brilliantly laid out, intricate plot lines.
Also consider that it was based on the book "See No Evil" which was written by Bob Baer, who was considered by the CIA to have been one of the best covert CIA operatives in the middle east during the 1980's.
Bob Baer has said that while the book is fiction, it plays on what really goes on over there in the middle eastern spy networks, and how it all relates to the insider politics that go on in washington.0 -
I recommend "Z" by Costa-Gavras. It's about a political murder & coverup in Greece. It came out in 1969. It's a riveting film. You see me empty, Sir, do not pause and inquire, simply assume and refill.

Michael Clayton
and if you can push your definition to 'supernatural thriller', watch Don't Look Now.'We're learning songs for baby Jesus' birthday. His mum and dad were Merry and Joseph. He had a bed made of clay and the three kings bought him Gold, Frankenstein and Merv as presents.'

Maybe 'psychological' is a better word.. but clairvoyance, ghosts of a dead girl, psychic intution.. all supernatural to my mind. Are we talking about the same film?'We're learning songs for baby Jesus' birthday. His mum and dad were Merry and Joseph. He had a bed made of clay and the three kings bought him Gold, Frankenstein and Merv as presents.'

No, the one I'm talking about is made in 1974, English and almost a horror film.'We're learning songs for baby Jesus' birthday. His mum and dad were Merry and Joseph. He had a bed made of clay and the three kings bought him Gold, Frankenstein and Merv as presents.'
