Bands Playing Inauguration Night?

Any ideas who's playing the inauguration parties? In the past, some stellar acts have played. I remember Stevie Ray Vaughan playing for George H.W. Bush in 1989. My guess is that Wilco will be a sure bet. Maybe the remaining members of the Grateful Dead. I doubt PJ will play, but you never know. Any ideas or knowledge of other bands playing these gigs?

Oh dude, a PJ show at the Showbox would be fucking SWEET on Inauguration Day!!!
  • Given the overwhelming youth vote that supported Obama and the fact that he appeared on more Rolling Stone covers this past year than anyone else, I'm thinking there's a sure bet that we'll see some good bands on the bill. Probably will be one of the best Inauguration line-ups ever. Picking Wilco is a sure thing because they're a Chicago based band and a huge supporter. So is (and I hate this band) Fall Out Boy. Smashing Pumpkins doesn't exactly fit the mold even though they're Chicago-based and anti-Bush, but you never know. According to Obama, one of his favorite songs is "Maggie's Farm" so Bob Dylan may be a possibility. Still, I'd love to see Pearl Jam on the bill since they are political and obvious supporters of Obama.
