People thinking about buying Satellite Radio

just to warn you because they wont tell you this until after youve bought everything...


The FCC lowered their allowance on signal strength.. so the older models are fine because those units have the stronger allowance...

but its the newer models that have the weaker signal... so Sirius for example will act like they don't know why its hard finding a channel for good reception if you live in a bigger city with lots of radio channels, but if you tell them everything is installed perfect they will send you an adapter you have to rip your dash apart to install which replaces your car antenna.


pain in the ass if you dont know how to do it... but if you do... its still worth, but seemed fucked up i had to go through 2 weeks of trying to get that part for free.

    i'm assuming you're talking about the fm transmitter?

    if so, then it's true......i had to replace one of my radios so i bought the sportster 4......fucking worst fm transmitter ever!!.....my starmate is in my house and when i pull up it's fm transmitter takes over in my car :mad:

    i now will now have to connect it to my in dash stereo but i've yet to find an installer to do it :mad:
  • i had an xm one in my car. i bought the cord online and when i bought a new stereo (my old one got jacked. this one cost 139) best buy just installed it for me.
    mean people suck!

    thats the thing i had i had to do it in my girlfriends hyundai sonata..and its easier than i thought...the console pops right off than y ou unscrew the radio and its connected right to the back... but its a pain in the ass if you dont know how to do that

    which i don't...i'll end up destroying the console...:)
