Hey I just flew up for two days. I am staying right by Pike Market. Been here before but looking for some hidden gems. Anyone have any advice on what to do or see on foot today/tonight? Love the Peroshky Peroshky, if anyone knows what I'm talking about lol

Thanks!

Come out to Moses Lake and keep me company for a week and a half while I'm at a job site out here until I get to go back to civilization! :D
  • Would love to, but from what I remember that'd be a long walk from downtown. I think I stayed in moses lake for the gorge shows... Hmmm

The Showbox is on 1st ave not too far from Pikes. I would head down to Pioneer Square for a decent bar scene. There are some trendy spots just too the north of you in Belltown but I never frequented them because I wasn't trendy enough.

If you like architecture or books, then check out the new downtown library. Even if you don't like books it's worth checking out.

Avoid tourist crap like the "underground city" tour. Experiance Music Project is worth checking out though.

If you have enough time (and the weather forecast calls for sun) I highly advise hopping on the ferry and go check out the olympic coast and rain forrests. You will need a solid couple days to make it worth while.

It's a pretty cool city with lots of stuff to do so have fun!

Shorty's, check out the Library, McCready at the Tractor Tavern (Tues night), Fado, Showbox Pike and Sodo, McCormick and Schmicks for late night happy hour, Fremont Troll, El Corazon (aka the Off Ramp), REI Flagship, Seattle Art Museum, go to the top of Smith Tower, go to the top of Columbia Tower.

EDIT...the bus system works well downtown! mostly free ride zone....and a day pass is only $3.50....take a bus anywhere all day! The green busses on the water front are free (George Benson line)....they go down the water front (check out Ivar's clam bar/rest)....and through Pioneer Square.

*Edit* dont forget to go visit Easy Street Records.......

I would love to return to Seattle.I spent 3 weeks there in 94.The best holiday I have ever had.
I still avidly watch Frasier, not only because its the best sitcom ever made but because I get to see Seattle when they are filming on location.

    Beechers? (mac n cheese)

Water at the Virigina Inn -- that's where the characters in Singles meet to get water.

I like the meat and cheese one myself but they are probably all good! It's a nice treat every now and then.

Too bad the water taxi is not running, it's a quick way to get to Alki.

Go to the pike place market for good peroshkies! I think the best stall is across the street from the market.

you're close to the ferries - if you've never been on one, they're kinda fun to ride around if you're bored. Good views when you're arriving back to Seattle w/ all the lights.

I personally loved the underground tour - but you have to get a good guide!

There are some neat places in Fremont...someone mentioned the troll, look for Lenin and the rocket too! http://www.roadsideamerica.com/story/9056

Perhaps I'll see you at the show tomorrow! Cheers :)
